You hooked me with this post about camping. Outdoors is my favorite place to be and when you mentioned being outdoors at night, I was all over it.

Unexpected bonus: being able to watch sunrise at Stonehenge on the solstice. Thank you so much for sharing this link.

I see your camp chairs, but do you bring a hammock?

Thanks, fellow Outdoor Human! I absolutely love camping and I’m glad you do, too! Listen, I love a hammock. I remember going to Girl Scout camp one summer and sleeping in a hammock for a week and absolutely loving it. I’d happily do more of it as an adult and have recently been shopping for one, though now I’m seeing more camp spaces regulate against hammocks because of so much tree damage. Perhaps this is the motivation I need to plan a good backcountry trip with a hammock in my pack!

Always take care of the trees, yes. (I live in Atlanta, the "City in a Forest".)

I recommend the ENO (Eagles Nest Outfitters) brand. SO many of my fellow cyclists use these: https://eaglesnestoutfittersinc.com/collections/hammocks. The wide straps distribute the load nicely and if you're careful about choosing healthy strong trees, any damage is avoided.

Looking forward to hearing about your backcountry trip -- or even a backyard trip!
